Structural dynamics are a core competence of Svend Ole Hansen ApS. Svend Ole Hansen ApS carries out dynamic analysis of all kind of structures – onshore as well as offshore, subjected to all kind of dynamic loads – human, environmental, traffic, seismic, pile driving etc.
In case of structures with low damping, the structural vibrations may grow to severe magnitude if the exciting frequency of the external force is in resonance with the structural natural frequency. Resonance can cause discomfort, fatigue and damage.
Svend Ole Hansen ApS has been consulted in numerous projects involving resonance phenomena. The analyses are both carried out during design and on already constructed structures. During design the dynamic behavior are analyzed using detailed action predictions and Finite Element models. On already constructed structures, the behaviors are quantified by responses measured using e.g. accelerations and strain gauges, supplemented with theoretical analyses.
Svend Ole Hansen ApS uses several tools for the dynamic analysis of structures. For linear finite element analysis GT Strudl is used, while Abaqus and Nastran are used for non-linear finite element analysis and other more complicated applications. Often, the results obtained using different models are either validated by or based on actual measurements.
