Cup Anemometer Classifications

We perform anemometer classifications following the procedure of IEC 61400-12-1:2022.

Our experimental procedures have been developed in collaboration with DTU Wind Energy (Technical University of Denmark), and count:

  • Rotor torque characteristic tests
  • Bearing friction tests at temperatures -20 to 40 deg. C.
  • Tilt response tests
  • Yaw sensitivity tests

Furthermore, the classification includes:

  • Numerical simulation of anemometer response using software verified by DTU and compliant with the requirements of IEC 61400-12-1:2022, Annex J.
  • Full documentation of tests and reporting final class indices for classes A, B, C and D.
