High-rise Structures
Svend Ole Hansen ApS has been a consultant regarding different wind engineering aspects of many high-rise structures. Examples of services provided for some of these structures are:
Axeltorv 2
Wind engineering aspects on Axeltorv 2 in the central Copenhagen, five cylindrical towers of heights from 28 meter to 60 meter, housing shops, restaurants and offices. Global wind loads and local 1 and 10 square meter wind loads were determined. The wind environment at the site was investigated. Client: ProCon Danmark ApS
Copenhagen Towers
Wind engineering aspects on Copenhagen Towers in Ørestad, two 81 meters high structures housing apartments and offices. First tower was completed in 2009. Local 1 and 10 square meter loads and static and dynamic global wind loads were determined. An analysis evaluating the comfort level in connection with wind-induced accelerations was performed by combining wind tunnel measurements with Finite Element analyses. The wind environment at the site was investigated. Client: Midtconsult a/s
Holmenkollen
Wind engineering aspects on Holmenkollen, the new ski jumping hill in Oslo. The inrun of the new ski jumping hill is a 96.95 meter long steel structure which was completed in 2010. Wind tunnel tests were carried out in order to determine the wind actions on the inrun structure. The investigation covered static load coefficients, vortex-induced vibrations, galloping-induced vibrations and test of pressure loss coefficients. Client: Norconsult A
Bella Hotel
Wind engineering aspects on Bella Hotel in Ørestad, two high-rise structures to be completed in 2011. Local 1 and 10 square meter loads and static and dynamic global wind loads were determined. An analysis evaluating the comfort in connection with wind-induced accelerations was performed by combining wind tunnel measurements with structural characteristics informed by the client. The wind environment at the site was investigated. Client: Rambøll
